STUD'S Rule!

I cannot get enough of the Wilde/Bellini family. Each and every one of the books in this series is five stars all the way, and this one (Alessandra's story) is certainly no exception! This could be read as a stand-alone, but much more enjoyable if you've read all of them in order as I have. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sandra has another winner in Power. I loved the story of Allesandra Bellini Wilde and her rescuer Tanner . Tanner is Sioux indian and also a member of the elite team STUD. As a special operative his was asked by General Wilde to go to San Escobal and try to rescue his daughter from the Bright Star who kidnapped her. They were demanding a ransom. Tanner was on medical leave until his leg healed but they released him so he could go on this mission. I don't want to give anything away but you know how these two families operate. This book is an excellent story. It does contain some profanity and some sex. The story will hold you interest the whole way through. A great read

Wonderful quick read.

This was one of the better 'stud muffin' books I've read. The lead characters felt real to me. What I really appreciated was that the sex scenes were in good taste and didn't go on for a full chapter or more and really weren't XXX rated. They felt right for the situation. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. There were a few grammatical errors but nothing that interrupted the flow, I just read over them. (That sentence was for those who get caught up on that type of thing. I don't) Also, this was a complete book and not a cliffhanger. I won't even start one of those.

Steve Bush served in the Royal Navy from 1978-2000. Following his retirement, he joined Maritime Books, editing their in-house publications. He became the editor of Warship World magazine in 2003. He currently lives in Plymouth, England, with his wife Joy.

As it presently stands the book is an excellent value and should not be missed

This book is the proper heir to James C. Fahey's "Ships and Aircraft of the U.S. Fleet" series. Concise, admirably complete and, even more admirably, inexpensive. Photographs are very well done. Suggestions for improvement would include dimensions in English as well as metric units, distribution of units (Atlantic/Pacific), Unit Establishments for air squadrons. But don't let my nit picking stop you from buying this edition. As it presently stands the book is an excellent value and should not be missed. Hopefully subsequent editions will see incremental improvements just the way James Fahey's did so long ago.

IF YOU ARE SELF PREPARING TO TAKE THE CPC EXAM, THIS BOOK ISN'T FOR YOU. IT'S LOADED WITH TRICK QUESTIONS AND IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF FRUSTATED AND LOST AT TIMES. IT MIGHT BE WORTH SPENDING A LITTLE MORE MONEY FOR A BETTER QUALIFIED LEARNING TOOL. THIS BOOK IS A BIT DISCOURAGING.

Better to code without the 'hints' being visible

The coding scenarios should be separate from the answers. Better to code without the 'hints' being visible. Yes, the tests are multiple choice. But the practice should be without, so you are required to research the answers first. Maybe someone out there will publish a coding scenario book with a format as I've described.

Let's get one thing straight - I had no intention of ever being an educator, but I spent nearly two decades at the front of a communication classroom at the University of Maine anyway. I couldn't have asked for anything better. What I wanted was a part time job while my daughter was young, but what I received was an education in how higher learning really works and just how tough it is to be a college student. Now, I'm going to tell everybody what I know. I spent my career teaching public speaking, supposedly the #1 fear, in some form or another. I was blessed to work with small classes and able to help students face their fears and learn just how much they could achieve. I had the reputation of being great for anxiety-ridden students, which is funny really since I'm also known for being sarcastic, outrageous, and running a rowdy classroom - the rowdier the better. I always joked that if a student could live through my class, they could live through anything and shine. Watching meek young people become organized, well-spoken students? Delightful. The best compliment my students can give me is that I trained them how to tackle a project. I loved all the times past students contacted me to say they landed a job and they "knew what to do" and "where to start" - whether it was giving a simple speech, designing a public relations campaign, or building a presentation for a four star general on proposed policy changes during the Iraq War. That is what teaching was, is, for me - helping a student be successful when they faced the Real World. Priceless. Several students over the years have told me that I needed to write a book. I'm going to do one better - I'm writing several books. Academic Intel is a series of three books, each one aimed at a different area of academics: college students, families and teens preparing for college, and new faculty members, the last two are in the works and soon to be released. in a way that will get you excited about putting her tips to good use in your own life

This book is a must have for anyone considering college or already attending college. We all have children, grandchildren, friends,or know someone who is about to start the next chapter in their life. The daunting task of deciding what to do with the rest of your life is stressful enough all by itself. We could all use a little advice in learning how to get the most out of the challenges that are waiting for us in this new world we are being thrown into.The author has a writing style that is delightful. She explains everything you need to know, what to do, and NOT to do, in a way that will get you excited about putting her tips to good use in your own life. This is not your typical how to succeed in college read. It is an earnest, honest, sometimes, brutally honest, look into why students are not getting the most out of there education .Light hearted at times, straightforward, tongue in cheek sense of humor that had me grinning through the whole book. Cannot wait to read everything else she has to offer!

If you are perplexed about what to get a high school student for a random holiday or you are at a loss for a gift to take to the graduation party, pick up this book. This book is cover to cover full of information to create a successful college student. I wish I had access to this information a couple of decades ago when I attended college. If your child/grandchild/niece/nephew/neighbor is a current college student, recommend this book. It's not written only for students just starting their college career. Academic Intel has information for students who may be struggling in the midst of their college experience. It is simply, honest, and direct. An informative, yet entertaining read.

Smart advice delivered in a delightful, amusing voice. There is great content in this guide for college students and it's not boring! So much effort goes into choosing the right school, the right program, and then there is the astronomical costs - a few bucks more for this book will make all the difference for your freshman. I wish I had had this book the first two times I attempted college. :) Even as a third year student, this is useful info.

An in-depth study beautifully done.

This outstanding in-depth study is beautifully done. Part of its importance is the difference Aermotor windmills have made in our rural setting where providing water everywhere is vastly important. Mr. Gillis' work is valuable and I appreciate the influence Dr. T. Lindsay Baker had in helping creat this worthy piece of work. The author's depth is amazing and enjoyable at the same time.

Kathryn Aalto is an American landscape designer, historian, writer, and lecturer living in Exeter, England. She has master’s degrees in garden history and creative nonfiction with a particular interest in literary landscapes. Before her expat life, she taught American Literature of Nature and Place in the Pacific Northwest. Who hasn't heard of Winnie-the-Pooh and Christopher Robin? Did you read the popular A.A. Milne stories as a child or maybe you read them to your children or grand children?

This book is a gem of background information behind the stories of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends. I found that having these tidbits of information gave more meaning and depth to Christopher Robin, the real boy, who played with his imaginary friends.

We learn about the man, A.A. Milne and the illustrator E.H. Shepard. Their partnership and the way they worked together made books that children have loved to read for 90 years.

Living in the USA, I never thought I would be transported to Ashdown Forest where Milne worked his magic to bring to the page Christopher Robin's playtime adventures. We learn about the plant and animal life in the forest. I love that Kathryn Aalto urges us to visit the real Hundred Acre Wood where everything "Pooh" happens.

This is a beautiful, thoughtful book. The narrative takes you to all the places illustrated in the photos. The book is full of charm and nostalgia, and takes you right to the garden as you read and explore. I received this book as a gift, and now plan to purchase more copies to share.

This book is like a walk through a beautiful restful wood. I loved reading about the door in the tree. It somehow brought me back to my own childhood where I, like Christopher Robin, roamed my parents farm. But a child can have this experience with a small lot as well given some time to do nothing. A great gift for the Winnie the Pooh fan, nature admirer, gardener, or dreamer. The photos are beautiful.

One of my favorite quotes from early in the book was: “Thanks to social media, activism, once limited to students, tree huggers, and political dissidents, is now the opium of suburban housewives and white collar workers across the world.” And I was interested to learn that studies show that for companies, reputation risk is now regarded as the second most important risk after financial risk.

When you read this book, you won’t need coffee to wake you up.

The first section entitled “Understanding the Threats” outlines the startling kinds of reputational risk that companies big and small are facing now. I had no idea about the sophisticated tactics that are being used online to incite action. If you don’t think your company is at risk, then maybe you do need to wake up and smell some coffee.

The book then shows you how to identify possible threats before they might happen. He quotes, The Art of War author Sun-Tzu: "If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." And most helpful, Pownall walks you through how to manage incidents and handle crises.

The key to doing both? Have a plan. And remember that having a plan is not what makes the difference, but the planning process is. Or as General Eisenhower famously said “plans are useless, but planning is useful.”

If you just follow the template in the book for developing a plan, you will be much better prepared to manage your online reputation.

And your blood pressure will probably drop as well.

Great book for both reporters and PRs!

Online reputation is an area that many companies have overlooked but it has been proved extremely important to company's image in the modern world, and many have learned through bitter experiences.
Charlie's book tells the classic reputation meltdown cases involving online communication vividly and provides systematic suggestions on how to prevent them from happening.
It is a helpful book for both PRs and reporters who are trying to get their message through in the fast-moving internet world.
In this book, Charlie shares many latest PR cases happened in Asia - a relatively immature market, including an insightful comparison on how Malaysia Airline handled its two aviation disasters in 2014 which demonstrated online reputation could be managed by moving fast and being transparent.
Reporters nowadays are under great pressure to deliver fresh information to readers through official/personal social network accounts before a polished news article appears on the paper, especially during the major disasters.
Official responses from involved companies weigh much more than online runners or commentator's speculations and such burdens pass on to PRs. That's why it is crucial for companies to understand they could gain substantial grounds even the situations are not necessarily in favor of them.

Excellent global analysis of social media crises and reputation management

I work in the online reputation industry myself so I am a voracious consumer of books like Charlie Pownall's Managing Online Reputation. Often, I find the books I come across on this top either lack actionable insight or have very dated, very broad case studies that seem to have been repurposed from some other news story. None of this is the case with this book. In it, Pownall presents a massively compelling perspective from his base in one of the world's most dynamic markets. His opening story about the tourism board is itself illustrative of the reality of today's reputation industry, and the behaviors of clients. I've already referenced his really helpful chart in Ch. 13 that visualizes different kinds of negative situations. What feels like a crisis in the moment to those involved might simply be an overreaction, and it's always good to have a solid grounding to remind yourself (and clients) of this. I particularly enjoyed his analysis of how crises and social media advocacy take shape in China, a topic I haven't read about anywhere else in this level of detail. In short, if you've got responsibility for a global brand or business, you should have this on your shelf. It's packed with great tips and insights.
